One last thing...
Nov. 25th, 2012 12:18 amI posted it to Reddit, and people kept telling me to crosspost it to different Reddits. The internet seems to like it, because when I went to bed last night I had 139 karma, and I just hit 2000. Only mean comment I got was someone saying "you must have no friends", to which I replied, "I have lots of friends, they just all had families to go to".
Well, and the guy saying it was like a Dreamcast controller (plug on the bottom), and I said not quite because you can reach the buttons. :)
Anyway, it's got a terrible flaw that I'm in the process of fixing: because of the way it writes to the keyboard, if you hold down a button for a while, other buttons will stop registering. So, say you're playing Mario, holding down "run" means "jump" stops working. Kind of an issue but fixable: I only get six simultaneous buttons to work with, but people will use at most two d-pad buttons at once, and probably not press start or select with anything else, so it's still doable. Just some hacking on the firmware.
