I stayed up way too late last night and finished it. Printed three iterations of the little thing on the back. It kept not having enough clearance to put the Teensy in; I finally just made it a couple mm too big in every dimension. It's a little chunky but it fits (held on by foam tape) and it's done. I dunno, it seems like I'm a lot more proud about finishing a not-quite-perfect design than I am about having an unfinished, abandoned, perfect design. I'll have to keep this is mind when I make more stuff.

If I make another one, there are some things I want to change:

1. The buttons. They feel good to me, but they're a little stiff, and they really only come from EPO (a local store here). I'd like to be able to publish this design for others to build, so it would be nice to have buttons that someone can order off the internet.

2. The analog stick. It sticks up way too high off the front. It should be mounted on the back with a small circular hole in the front. I basically just got sick of tweaking it and cut notches in my faceplate to fit, but the next one I'll do a little better.

3. The USB port is on the wrong side! I wasn't thinking, the two screws that mount that cover on are set too close together, so you can't fit the Teensy between them. Fix that and you can mount the USB port actually facing the computer.
