Wow, Helio sucks.

So last July I got jealous of all the shiny smartphones people had at Origins, and so I bought one. The iPhone was nice but closed, and the Helio Ocean was Java and had a GPS, so I went with it.

Unfortunately, the Ocean sucked, in that the hardwarre was brilliant but the software was absolutely terrible. I kept it until maybe, what, February? And then work decided that if I worked a Sunday unnecessarily, I would deserve "iPhone money", and so with my mini-bonus I bought one. And then began the era of pain.

See, the goatfuckers are sort of hard to quit. I told them I was leaving, then they took over a week to port my number. Then once they finally did I tried to close my account, and they said fine and closed it (to the degree that calling support became more of a hassle, gee, wonder why), and then never sent me a bill.

Like, for a month.

I called them, I think, four times that month? Got nobody that spoke English any time, except one guy who called me at work at 1645 Friday like anyone would want to talk on the phone then, you choads. But finally got a bill for the last month and the early-termination fee, and paid it the day it showed up.

Today the grubby little bastards had the balls to send me a late fee for that bill they were too incompetent to mail.

I know, I know, I was agog too. It was $1.25, perhaps they were hoping it wouldn't be worth my time to argue, but at this point... I really don't like bitching at call-center people. Normally I am pleasant. This time, I have no remorse. Anyone who would work there needs their life to be made worse to the point that they will quit. Needs. For the good of their soul.
