Christmas

For various reasons, getting presents from people sometimes makes me anxious and sort of upset. So, like last year:

- If you hadn't planned on getting me anything, that's totally cool, the rest of this post probably doesn't apply to you.

- If you would like to get me a gift for Christmas, I really appreciate it. It's the thought that counts, and it means a lot to me that you like me enough to get me something.

- But, I'd really rather you get that something for someone else who needs it, or who can do some good with it. The EFF, ACLU, and Amnesty International do some good things, for example. If you'd prefer something less political, the Stop TB Partnership distributes medication for a fatal and curable disease to people who need it, and pretty much no one should be against that. Likewise the Wikimedia Foundation, which runs Wikipedia and its various related projects.

- Or, if your cause isn't listed here, it's still probably good, so go for it. Anything would be much more beneficial and make me feel better than spending your money on me. :)

- The exception to this is homemade stuff. I'm making a couple presents myself this year, and I would be really touched if someone wanted to put that much time and energy toward making me something. So if you've already started making something, don't worry about it, we're cool. :)

- And, I'm going to blatantly ignore my own advice and get presents for other people, like I usually do. Unless you comment here telling me not to or something.
