I am no longer an atheist.
I decided that I no longer believed in God last year when I decided that I could no longer pretend not to notice the total lack of evidence. Among other things, bad people (including myself) break biblical law all the time, and God does nothing. If his law is that important to him, and he actually exists, then where is the divine retribution?
However, I am a rationalist, and so my beliefs must follow where the evidence points, even if I don't like it. And so, I can no longer disregard the evidence that Ra, the Sun God, is attempting to burn us off the face of the Earth.
My lord, forgive us! We humbly beseech thee, tell us how we have displeased you! Name your sacrifice and you shall have it! We cannot endure another week of hundred-degree days!
