God help them, they tried: it came today, early, but I wanted to play it on PC, and in order to get my free PC copy I have to log into the Playstation Network.
The Playstation Network has been down since Wednesday what the fuck.
So I will just play it on the PS3, right? Well, I had to move the PS3 into my room for that, since doing anything in the living room wakes Cassie up. Once I did that, I had to get it working with my monitor: the PS3 is notoriously picky about HDMI connections, so introducing it to a new screen required half an hour of blowing on cables, holding down buttons until they beep, and so forth. At one point it literally displayed static. Like it was 1987 or something. Then it suddenly started working, except for network, and I was able to play it.
The controls work on a console. I don't know how or why, except that nothing is shooting at you so it's a lot less tense to aim, and we've just gotten better at smoothing joystick input since Goldeneye (last time I tried to use a joystick to play an FPS). If you can't run it on your machine (and from the looks of it, if you don't know you can then you can't), just go buy a PS3. It's totally playable.
