This one was made by, I dunno, someone, probably Dave Chubb. Hardly anyone ever posts to it, and the people who do are either talking about parties I don't want to go to, or are Tirani, or both, so I've been considering dropping it for a while now. I forget why I joined in the first place, probably never even considered not joining.

entertain_emily
I think Kay made this, during a week when Emily had nothing to do at work and wanted people to send her amusing links. I posted a few things into it. It would be neat to see this become like our group's own personal BoingBoing.

This one I don't even remember joining. I must have done it after Origins, that year that Zuckerman wore the ribbon advertising it because he was a guest at Arisia. It's odd that I joined it, since I've never actually seen Eric in the Elevator, or been to a con where it was being done. Adam told me about it once though, and it sounded hilarious.

heliohelp
Now here's a good one. Once upon a time, I bought a phone called the Helio Ocean. This was one of the stupidest things I've ever owned. I bought it because it was cheaper than an iPhone and had better features, like GPS, but it was actually incredibly crappy: slow, broken browser, crashy, bulky. It was good for a couple things; made a nice camera, and had a decent text messaging interface. Nowhere near as good as the iPhone though, especially for email. Anyway, I joined this group when I got it, because it seemed to be the only Livejournal group for it. Most people seemed to need help with their Helio phones, rather than want to discuss cool hacks or whatever.

lisp
I joined this one on Liam's advice, right around the time I stopped heavily using Lisp, so I never read the archives or anything. An incredible troll named xah_lee posts here a lot, which means that a lot of the posts are trolly and have links to his site, which is filled with ads.

nintendo_ds
This one used to be much cooler. It started right around the time the DS came out, and I joined it then. Back then, I figured the DS would be another Virtual Boy; I bought mine on release day because I figured that a week later they'd be pulled from the stores. Happily, games did eventually come out, and I own more than a shelf full now. Sadly, that popularity made this group as obnoxious as every other internet video game community, filled with twelve-year-olds. I filtered it a while back.

spielgames
Oh, sadness. For a while Spiel announcements were crossposted here, so I joined since I don't check my mailing-list account (lists at geekfu.org) that much. Now, they still are on occasion, but they only remind me of how far I am away from Spiel, so they're sort of depressing.

This is a meme: If you reply below, I'll pick seven of your interests, or things that should be your interests, or something, and ask you to expound on them.
