Mr. Driller
Oct. 23rd, 2008 06:38 pmFor like a year now I've been wanting a drill press.
I went to Harbor Freight Tools the other day and picked one up for like $65.
Just put it together. Seems to work! The only thing I could find to drill was a random little piece of metal that I think used to be the world's crappiest soldering iron stand. It's now the world's crappiest soldering iron stand with a stylish 1/8" hole in it!
I'm not entirely clear on what this thing is powerful enough to drill, but it seemed to not even notice that it was going through that, so drilling holes in a metal project box for the Thingamakit shouldn't be an issue.
Maybe "how much can this thing drill" is a hopelessly Dremel-ish thing to ask, but that's really the only power tool I've had until now. That thing strained to even cut wood.
