rbandrewsI realized something last night: in Star Trek, any physical law can be bent or broken through technobabble except one: the status quo shall be conserved.
Conservation of momentum, gravity, the speed of light, entropy, even ordinary mechanics will move right out of the way in order to ensure that main characters don't get affected by events.
