Giving thanks
Cassie is driving to two different and widely-separated Thanksgiving dinners, so I'm on my own. I am attempting to cook something, since if I screw up, nobody else will have to suffer. I have:
One chicken
Baked sweet potatoes
Garlic rice (couldn't find stuffing, my grocery store blows)
Gravy
Half-remembered recipe of how to do this
I'll update this as I go along.
1 PM:
Unwrapped the chicken, preheated the oven, and used a spoon to scoop gunk out of the middle part and throw it away. I know there's something I'm supposed to do with that, but I dunno what, so I'm wasting it. The rice apparently needs less than ten minutes to cook, so I'm not doing it yet. The gravy would probably take longer, if it weren't in a jar.
2:20 PM:
Chicken appears done, have put sweet potato in microwave, and rice on stove. I'm shocked the chicken didn't screw up somehow; it was the part I was worried about. Everything else should be a cakewalk.
3 PM:
Wow, everything worked. I will have to do that more often. Of course, I always say that.

I think I'm celebrating Thanksgiving with an egg sandwich...
